BOPからの破壊的イノベーション： 新興国発多国籍企業による成長アプローチ
(Disruptive innovation from the bottom of the pyramid as the effective approach to catching up and leapfrogging by emerging MNEs)

世界経済において、中国やインドなどの新興国発の多国籍企業(Emerging Multinational Enterprises: EMNEs)の存在感が高まっています。これらの企業の特徴についての理解を深めることは、日本企業にとっても有益であると思われます。しかしながら、国際経営の研究分野では、新興国発多国籍企業に焦点を当てた研究がまだ多くありません。また、世界のビジネス環境が大きく変化しつつある中での新興国発多国籍企業の行動は、国際経営分野における既存の理論枠組では十分にカバーできない特徴を持っているとさえ思えます。

そこで今回の研究会では、新興国発多国籍企業に関する最先端の研究を行っているCopenhagen Business SchoolのPeter Ping Li先生をお招きして、新興国発多国籍企業が、先進国の多国籍企業にキャッチアップし、さらに追い越していく際の効果的なアプローチだと考えられる「BOP (bottom of the pyramid)からの破壊的イノベーション」の役割について説明をしていただくとともに、これを機にした国際経営分野における新たな理論構築の可能性について解説をしていただきます（講演は英語で行われますが、質疑応答などは日本語でも結構です）

Abstract: We know little regarding the underlying contexts and mechanisms for disruptive innovation initiated by the entrepreneurial firms in the emerging economies. Further, there is limited knowledge about the contexts and mechanisms for global latecomers to catch up with and leapfrog global early-movers. The cross-fertilization between such two research streams provides a great opportunity to shed light on their link toward an interdisciplinary domain of international strategic entrepreneurship (ISE). This article will develop an integrative typology of global innovations as well as a dynamic model of entrepreneurial leapfrogging as the initial building blocks of ISE.

講師のご紹介

Peter Ping Li先生 (PhD, 1991, George Washington University, USA; Professor of Chinese Business Studies at Copenhagen Business School, Denmark)は、(1) 新興国発の多国籍企業(Emerging multinational firms)、および(2) 中国型マネジメント(Chinese indigenous management)という経営学の中でも新しい分野を牽引することによって世界からの注目を集めている研究者です。とりわけLi先生は、西洋的アプローチと東洋的アプローチを融合させるなど、経営学における学際的な研究を中心に活動をされておられます。Li先生のこれまでの研究成果は、Organization Studies, Journal of Operations Management, Management and Organization Review, Journal of International Management, Asia Pacific Journal of Management, Journal of Business Ethicsなどの学術雑誌に掲載されています。また、編著書として”Disruptive innovation in Chinese and Indian businesses: The strategic implications for local entrepreneurs and global incumbents (Routledge)” も出版されておられます。Li先生は、2011 年創刊のJournal of Trust Researchの初代編集長であるほか、Academy of Management Discovery, Journal of Management Studies, Management and Organizational Review, Journal of International Management, and Global Strategy Journal.などの学術雑誌の編集委員や、Management and Organization Review, Asia Pacific Journal of Managementの特集号編集委員などを務めていらっしゃいます。
